Last month, the KAS Music Program was thrilled to welcome internationally acclaimed cellist Mr. Mon-Puo Lee for a special masterclass. Alongside our talented KAS cellists, we were also honored to host two outstanding student cellists from Kaohsiung Municipal Senior High School. Together, students shared, learned, and connected through music—making it a meaningful afternoon of artistic growth and collaboration within Kaohsiung’s music community. #KASMusic #高雄美國學校

At Kaohsiung American School’s IB Personal Project Exhibition, Grade 10 students presented the results of over a year of independent, self-directed learning centered on the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Guided by mentors but driven by their own curiosity, students explored real-world issues across sustainability, technology, and social impact. Projects ranged from founding student-led environmental initiatives and designing inclusive magnetic clothing solutions, to conducting advanced quantum computing research using IBM Qiskit to analyze how quantum noise affects teleportation fidelity. Through innovation, research, and community collaboration, students demonstrated critical thinking, resilience, and cross-disciplinary problem-solving—highlighting how empowered learners can turn ideas into tangible impact.
