Welcome to Kaohsiung American School
Founded in 1989, KAS is a fully accredited PreK–12 international school. We believe that a rich, holistic, and international education prepares students for an increasingly complex, multicultural, and rapidly changing world. Our highly qualified and diverse faculty, coupled with American standards-based curricula, the IB Middle Years Programme, and the IB Diploma Programme, inspire our students to discover what drives them, to challenge themselves, and to invest in their passions.

KAS Volleyball Invitational Last Saturday, KAS welcomed GUSJH (鼓山高中), SMVHS (三民家商), and FHSH (鳳新高中) to campus for a volleyball invitational. Our boys’ and girls’ varsity teams took to the court for a great day of competition, giving our athletes the opportunity to challenge themselves, gain experience, and compete alongside other schools. Thank you to all the teams for joining us, and to everyone who helped make the invitational a great day of volleyball! #KASDragons #KASAthletics #GoDragons

Grade 9 at the Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts This week, our Grade 9 students stepped outside the classroom and into the Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts to explore Cheng Chien-chang’s Variations of Mountain and Sea Spirits exhibition. But they weren’t just there to look at art. The gallery became a live data collection site, where students observed closely, documented their findings, asked questions, and gathered primary data to strengthen their research and inquiry skills. A different kind of classroom, with plenty to observe, question, and discover. #KASDragons #Grade9 #KASLearning
