Admissions

Welcome to KAS Admissions!

The KAS journey begins in our Early Years Program in PreKindergarten (4-year-olds) and Kindergarten (5-year-olds) and continues through the lower and upper elementary schools (grades 1–5).

In middle school (grades 6–8), our students build upon skills and knowledge they’ve developed in the lower grades to prepare for high school (grades 9–12). High school is an academically challenging time of growth and exploration that prepares our oldest Dragons for study beyond KAS.

We invite you to visit our campus and experience the joy and excitement of Kaohsiung American School. Explore the information below to learn more about our the application process and our admissions timeline. We look forward to hearing from you!

Entry Requirements

Foreign Passport

The ROC government and KAS require that all students hold a valid foreign passport.

English Language Skills

Students in grades PK-2 are not required to be fluent in English, but because of the limited number of ELL spaces in a given grade level, strong English skills will increase a student’s likelihood of being accepted.

In grades 3-12, a student must be able to read and write in English in order to have a chance at passing the English proficiency exam that is required before acceptance. Students in grades 8–12 must have good academic English proficiency to be successful in our classrooms or in our programs.
