About Us

Kaohsiung American School is a school of the three A's - Academics, Arts, and Athletics.  Our students learn from some of the world's best teachers, in one of the world's healthiest LEED certified school campuses.  As an American school in Taiwan, we unite the best of the east and the west into incredible opportunities for students.

Jim Laney, Head of School

Welcome to Kaohsiung American School for the 2022–23 school year!

By the middle of the 21st century, today's students at Kaohsiung American School (KAS) will be the adults who are shaping the world. This gives our educators and parents a great sense of purpose, and emphasizes how important education at KAS today is for our students' potential. Seeing our students running into school smiling each morning inspires us to prepare each and every KAS learner to thrive in a rapidly changing and uncertain future.

KAS is a world-class American school where bright students, skilled and helpful faculty and staff, a caring and ambitious community, a dedicated Board of Directors, and supportive parents work in partnership with one another. Together, we make KAS a special and rewarding place to learn.

We invite you to join us on our journey of shaping the leaders of tomorrow. Whether you are interested in enrolling your bright and hard-working child at KAS, or joining our team of skilled professional educators, we welcome the opportunity to connect with you. Together we make a BIG difference for KAS students!
