Looking to the Future

Highlights from the Southern Taiwan University Fair

On Monday, KAS hosted the Southern Taiwan University Fair, the largest college recruitment event ever held in the region and one of the largest this year in East Asia. Students from KAS and several other international schools in the area were given the opportunity to meet with representatives from over 75 global institutions.

The Fair was supported by InitialView and organized by our College Counseling Program, which is run by Director Noah Dvorak and Co-Directors Dwayne Okpaise and Jackie Su. Attending schools included top-ranked U.S. universities, selective liberal arts colleges, leading Canadian institutions, and universities from Japan, Hong Kong, and Europe, among numerous other reputable universities and colleges.

The event offered students a wide range of academic options and valuable insights into admissions, programs, and campus life at diverse institutions. While choosing a path after high school can be intimidating, events like this empower students to ask questions and explore possibilities. Speaking with knowledgeable representatives is an incredibly valuable experience that helps students refine their college search and make informed decisions about their futures.

College counseling plays a pivotal role in preparing students for this next step. Our college counseling program and faculty work closely with students starting freshman year to help them identify schools that align with their academic interests, career goals, and personal values, and guide them through the complexities of the application process. Events like the Southern Taiwan University Fair complement this ongoing support and are an important part of the program.

We were thrilled to see so many of our Dragons, and students from throughout the area, making the most of this opportunity and are confident that it will greatly benefit them as they prepare for this important decision and the next step in their learning journeys.
