Yu-Min joined our KAS team as an elementary school Chinese teacher in 2015. She earned her MA Teaching Chinese as a Second/Foreign Language from National Kaohsiung Normal University (NKNU) in 2011, and her BA in Elementary Education from National Pingtung University (NPU) in 2007, with two minors in Special Education and English Education. Yu-Min holds certification in elementary school and teaching Chinese as a Second/Foreign Language awarded by the Education Ministry of Taiwan. Yu-Min also has a Teaching Proficiency Certificate of Teaching Chinese as a Second Language (2011) issued by Beijing Language and Culture University. Yu-Min has 10 years experience teaching Chinese to native speakers, American-born Chinese, and foreign students in Taiwan, the United States and Poland. Before joining KAS, Yu-Min was a lecturer in the TCAFL Program at NKNU, designed to give state-of-the-art training to Taiwanese students and professionals interested in learning how to teach Chinese as a second language at. Enthusiastic and passionate in her teaching, Yu-Min prides herself in creating an environment where the students are engaged and interested in both the language and culture of China. Yu-Min now lives in Kaohsiung with her family and enjoys traveling, reading, hiking and watching movies in her free time.
