Natalie returned to Kaohsiung in 2019 after several years of teaching in Taiwan, China, South Africa and Japan. She hails from South Africa and is a certified Middle and High School Art teacher with a passion for IB Visual Arts education. She also has a strong background in ESL teaching to school students of all ages. Natalie has been with KAS since 2019, first in the Elementary and Middle Art Department, and since the start of the 2021-2022 academic year in the DP and MYP Art Department. Natalie holds a BA (Honours) in Fine Arts from the University of South Africa, a PGCE from the University of Witwatersrand, and an MA in History from the Open University, UK with a research focus on Japanese art. Natalie is a member of the Botanical Art Association of South Africa. She also has a keen interest in the study and preservation of Thangka painting through her association with Tsering Art School in Kathmandu, Nepal. She enjoys painting and gardening in her free time.
