A Journey to Knowledge and Identity
What sets KAS Middle School students apart from other young people in the world? Our learners embody essential 21st century skills, including critical thinking, problem solving, and collaboration as balanced individuals, independent learners, and global citizens.
The student experience in middle school is defined by high expectations along with the love and support in and out of school that helps students to achieve these expectations and reach their full potential.
Our middle school is an International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program school that is committed to supporting students in gaining awareness of and tapping into their unique identities, interests, and skills, as well as in making real world connections and developing a strong sense of purpose. We use the IB MYP as our core program due to the academic rigor, as every middle school course at KAS is designed to prepare students for the IB Diploma upon graduation and challenging post-secondary study.
Character education is an important part of the KAS experience and we move our students to act with empathy, integrity, and humility. We also believe that school should be fun. Our middle school students take advantage of the many club, athletic, arts, and recreation opportunities offered. Visitors to our middle school classrooms often remark on the joyful learning and lively dialogue between students and teachers. KAS students are treated with respect, and kindness, and we trust them to strive to be their best selves in and out of school.
