Service & Community
We recognize how important experiences beyond the classroom are to student learning, skills development, and personal growth. Our community experiential and service learning opportunities have a positive impact and leave a lasting impression on KAS students.
Future Leaders Program
The Future Leaders Program serves to strengthen and enhance the skills, mindsets, and the future talent pool of the next generation of leaders. Young adults have unrealized potential as they embark on their journeys to find career interests, learn professionalism, and discover more about themselves and their communities. The KAS Future Leaders Program is an opportunity for students to explore and learn about their specific career interests under the guidance of esteemed mentors and professionals currently working in the field, while also connecting businesses and industries with promising future talent.
The mission of the Future Leaders Program is to support the growth, development, and maturation of current students in three areas:
- Career Exploration
- Connections, Networking, & References
Each year, seniors have one special task before leaving KAS: Senior Projects. These projects take place in the community and are the last step before graduation. Each senior project is unique and designed by the students to help address a problem in and around Taiwan using specific goals and methods. The projects bring students out into our community and closer to their neighbors, leaving an indelible mark before they leave our campus for their worldly adventures. Popular on-going work has focused on healthcare and bilingual education, with teams of our young adults volunteering in local clinics and classrooms to share their knowledge and time.
IB Diploma Program: Creativity, Action, Service
A core component of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program is the IB Core, which consists of a service element called CAS. CAS stands for Creativity, Action, and Service. DP students undertake a CAS project that incorporates these three areas, challenges them, is collaborative and meaningful, and allows for self-discovery.
