Dear KAS Families 親愛的KAS家長，
Thank you to each of you for partnership in our efforts to keep students safe. Our procedures have worked very well, and we know that because our students are healthy and our mornings have been efficient. During a recent visit the Bureau of Education inspected our disinfection measures, our morning temperature checks, and our health lessons. They said they were pleased with what they observed.
Next week we will continue with our temperature monitoring procedures and our closed campus. Any student with a temperature above 37.0 will be sent to the nurse for additional screening, and may be sent home or for further medical evaluation.
We will resume after school activities on Wednesday, 2/26, but will do so with a closed campus. We will continue to allow parents and visitors on campus by appointment only, and with the required temperature checks upon entry.
Based on guidance from authorities, we are updating our policy regarding time out of school for previously sick children. If the student has not traveled in the last two weeks, the student may return to school after being fever free/symptom free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication.
For now we expect these procedures will continue at least through the end of next week. Our Response Team continues meeting daily to examine the situation and adjust our program accordingly. I’ll reach out with any changes as soon as possible.
Thanks again for your partnership and being part of the KAS family.
