Madeline Melnick joined KAS in 2019 as the IB DP Core Coordinator. She has earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in both English and German Studies and a Master of Arts degree in English from Emory University in her hometown of Atlanta, Georgia. Ms. Melnick has attended several IB trainings and holds certification to teach English from the state of Texas. While living in Austin, Texas, she taught a variety of English and Humanities courses in grades 9-12, including DP Language and Literature and TOK. Ms. Melnick also earned the IB Diploma as a high schooler, so she understands the value and potential impact of the IB program from both a student’s and teacher’s perspective. Her passions include competitive powerlifting, volunteering in museums and cultural institutions, art-making in a variety of media, and reading, particularly graphic novels and the works of James Joyce. She hopes to cultivate in her students an eye for personal growth and a sense of curiosity about the world.
