Representing the flag of the Dominican Republic is Ms. Lily Tejeda, who will join KAS’s strong middle school science department, concentrating on grades 7 to 8. Ms. Tejeda has called Taiwan their home for over 5 years and you can always find her in one of the gorgeous parks of the city. Her background includes teaching the core sciences at the Middle and High School levels and sharing her love of science with her students. Prior to this, she was a senior research assistant specializing in molecular biology, running a science laboratory. Ironically, Lily confesses that during her high school years, science had not been her cup of tea; however, this changed when she understood the power that science knowledge can provide to help others see the world in all its color. Her aim is to make science more accessible by removing stigmas and teaching the needed basics for students to grasp tough scientific concepts and hypothesize about everyday phenomena for fun!
