Julia Chiu-Ling Chen grew up in the Republic of South Africa, majoring in violin and piano at the University of Cape Town, where she earned her Master’s and Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education and Postgraduate Higher Diploma of Education. She obtained CELTA (Certificate of English Language Teaching to Adult) from Cambridge University and is a qualified teacher in teaching IB PYP, and IB MYP music. She has also trained and became a WASC accreditation visiting community member in 2017. In 2020, Julia completed a Higher Education Teaching Certificate with Harvard University and in 2021 earned her EdM with the Columbia University in Public School Building Leadership. Her music teaching experience includes 6 years in Rondebosch Boys School, Cape Town South Africa; 6 years in AST (American School in Taichung), Taiwan; and the lead music teacher in Kaohsiung American School since 2007. She has also held the role of teacher leader at KAS since 2018. Julia is an animal lover and enjoys her leisure time with her super-motorcycles.
