Catherine Gassner joins KAS at the start of the 2019-2020 school year teaching 3rd grade. She’s a 2010 graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles with a B.A. History, emphasis in Southeast Asian History. She continued her education at the University of San Francisco with a M.A. Teaching Reading in 2014. Her extensive background in primary education literacy includes a Reading Specialist Certificate, IB Teaching Certificate (PYP), training in Fountas & Pinnell Literacy Collaboration, and training at the esteemed Teacher’s College Reading & Writing Workshop. Catherine moved to Kaohsiung with her husband, Joseph Gassner who teaches MYP at KAS. She loves to dance, workout, cook and eat as much yummy food as possible. She’s excited to explore Kaohsiung and all of Taiwan; especially all of the delicious dishes!
