All ceiling areas in all classrooms are finished with a material that has a Noise Reduction Coefficient of 0.70 or higher. The acoustic ceiling tiles are installed to help students and teacher hear each other and the perfect acoustic conditions.
The auditorium stage is built with solid maple flooring system with low volatile organic compound. This type of hardwood floor minimizes the use of chemicals.
The laminated wood flooring used in the lecture hall, auditorium seating area and corridor between the music rooms and the faculty room are low-emitting flooring systems used to reduce the quantity of indoor air contaminants that are odorous, irritating and/or harmful to the comfort and well-being of installers and occupants. KAS uses carpet tiles that meet the testing and product requirements of the Carpet and Rug Institute Green Label Plus.
