Middle School- the years when you start to figure out what it is you want, what you’re good at, and maybe even start to set your goals! The movies give Middle School a bad reputation. It’s not ‘those geeky years before you find the love of your life in high school’ any more! It’s actually more like the Middle School years are ‘those awesome years you get to find out who you are!’
We asked some students for what they thought of their Middle School experience at the KAS, because how else do you find out what is really happening? And we are so happy to report that we’ve got exciting results!
Did you know that…
Science class is popular? Science isn’t just a difficult subject or something that nerds like, it’s actually cool at KAS. We have world-class facilities that help support our students through learning by giving them an opportunity to experiment and learn! Not only did Anthony Shen’s class get to learn about chemical reactions, for example. Later, “in our assessment, we had to apply our knowledge of chemical properties and doing several experiments to determine the nature of an unknown chemical the teacher assigned us.”
the Environmentally Concerned Club actually makes waves? Not real waves, obviously, but like, figurative ones! In an effort to support student learning with outside traditional classroom activities, students are actively seeking ways to ensure that the school is doing all it can to continue on her path to being more environmentally friendly!
the facilities speak for themselves! It has taken the KAS a long time to finally get to our new, amazing facilities and we are so happy with them! Our Middle Schoolers feel a certain sense of pride and joy when using the facilities and definitely don’t take it for granted!
Sports plays a big role in Middle School? It shouldn’t be a surprise, really! We’ve got awesome sports seasons, and a swimming club! The benefits of participating in physical activities, especially at this age, is astounding. By exercising more, you become more focused and happier! This is so important for our students at this age especially when homework starts to pile up! You also learn important lessons in teamwork, hard work, and perseverance!
Thank you to everyone that answered our questions about Middle School! We’re so honored to have you as part of our school, and wish everyone a fantastic second semester!
