Kaohsiung Summer Institute for Writing and the Arts is amongst our most prized summer programs. The Summer Institute is getting ready to host motivated students! Pre-register to save a spot and receive instructions from world-class authors and poets.

Session 1 – June 13 to June 24

    1. Writing and the Arts for First Time Summer Institute Students for ELL students.
    2. Emerging Writers’ Workshop

  1. Emerging Writers’ Workshop II will be offered primarily to students entering grade 9&10. This course will introduce students to the college essay in addition to beginning to prepare students for college writing expectations.
  2. Personal Narrative Writing for University II will be offered primarily to students going into grades 11&12 and beyond. The students will focus on their college essay and will discuss the extended IB essay.

The courses are subject to change based on enrollment and students needs.

Session 2 – June 27 to July 8

  1. Emerging Writers’ Workshop. This course may be divided into two classes to accommodate ELL and the second year students in the Summer Institute if the numbers dictate.
  2. Emerging Writers’ Workshop II for students in grades 9-10. This course will introduce students to the college essay in addition to beginning to prepare students for college writing expectations.
  3. Advanced Writing Workshop for University for high school students who have taken the Writing Courses from last summer or test into the class.
